What’s happening?

On March 14, 2022, the federal government announced that it will increase the general minimum wage rate $0.55 per hour, raising it to $15.55. The increase comes into effect on April 1, 2022.

What should we do?

The general minimum wage increase applies to most employees in the federal sector. Employers are encouraged to review federal rates with their employees’ rates and to continue to monitor local laws to ensure minimum wage requirements are being met.
